Britney Spears
Analysis
Firstly we had to watch the first 50 seconds of the video a numerous amount of time's so were able to write down all the different shots. Since this was a extremely fast paced music video most of the shot lengths were less than half a second long. Comparing this to writing down a films shot list I think i'm going to find that when I write down my own music video shot list its going to take a lot longer and require much more time. Since the amount of shots in this music video were massive we decided to give everyone in our group ten seconds.
The initial filming was quite frantic since we couldn't record all the shots in the order they were suppose to go in due to places being occupied by either another class or the other media group. since there were so many shots we compiled all of our shot lists and every time we finished recording one we would tick it off. We made use of the rooms and corridor's that were open to us whenever we filmed, which is why most of the shots are not in the same location. When I film for the final music video I will keep in mind that filming in the same location create's constancy and makes the music video seem more believable compared to filming in lots of different locations that are dotted about.
The first part of the editing process was to get the order of the shots in the corrects place. The hardest part of the editing was trying to keep the length of the video correct but at the same time trying to keep the singing synced. some shots had to be sped up, where as others had to be cut down by tiny amounts. From editing this video I learned that the final music video will have to be refined ever so much so the video fits together and syncs correctly. For a first try at a music video I believe the end product was very successful considering the time we had. At the start of recording a didn't think that recording a 50 second long video was going to take very long but now it's finished I realise that the final video will take even longer and will have to look even better so the constancy is kept.
